The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) stated on Sunday that 150 fighters of the paramilitary Fast Assist Forces (RSF) have been killed in a battle in El Fasher, the capital metropolis of North Darfur State in western Sudan.
“Our forces have been engaged in a continued battle for greater than two hours southeast of El Fasher,” the command of the SAF’s sixth Infantry Division in El Fasher stated in a press release.
“A number of militia bases have been captured up to now, with enemy casualties estimated at 150,” the assertion added, noting that the SAF models have been making important development.
The RSF has not commented on the battle.
Sudan has been engulfed in a devastating battle between the SAF and the RSF since mid-April 2023. The lethal battle has resulted in over 24,850 deaths and displaced greater than 14 million folks, in keeping with estimates by worldwide organizations.
