MOGADISHU, Somalia — Seven folks died and 6 others have been injured after a suicide bomber detonated an unidentified gadget at a café outdoors a police coaching college in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, police stated Thursday.
Police say the victims included officers and civilians who have been having tea outdoors the Normal Kaahiye Police Academy on Thursday.
The al-Qaeda linked militant group, al-Shabab, claimed accountability for the assault via a press release revealed on its affiliate web site. The group has prior to now carried out assaults in Somalia.
Resident Mohamed Ali stated he heard a loud blast.
“The café was full of individuals having fun with their tea, after which every little thing was chaos,” he stated.
A paramedic at Madina Hospital advised The Related Press that a number of injured folks have been receiving therapy.
