The dad and mom of the Sydney stabbings attacker have stated they’re “extraordinarily sorry” after their son killed six folks at a mall in Bondi.
Joel Cauchi, 40, roamed via the busy Westfield Bondi Junction on Saturday with a big knife, killing six folks and injuring 12 others, together with a nine-month outdated child.
He was shot and killed by Inspector Amy Scott, who confronted him alone on the fifth ground after a pursuit via the mall.
Talking on Monday outdoors their dwelling, Andrew Cauchi stated he was “extraordinarily sorry” to the victims of his son’s assault and that he was “heartbroken” for his or her loss.
The 76-year-old stated: “I made myself a servant to my son after I discovered he had a psychological sickness.
“He’s my son. And I’m loving a monster – to you, he’s a monster. To me, he was a really sick boy.”
Mr Cauchi stated his son had an extended historical past of psychological sickness.
“He wished a girlfriend and he has no social abilities and he was pissed off out of his mind,” he added.
