BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Residents in Armenia
blocked a number of highways in protest in opposition to the delimitation of the
border with Azerbaijan, Pattern stories.
In keeping with the data, the Tigranashen (Kyarki) section
of the Yerevan-Meghri freeway, together with the Martuni part of
the Yerevan-Sevan freeway, have been obstructed. Moreover, the
Yerevan-Gyumri freeway confronted blockades in Shirak province, whereas a
portion of the Armenian-Georgian freeway was blocked in
Bagratashen.
To notice, a number of days in the past, a gaggle of Armenians protesting in opposition to
the border demarcation course of was detained in Tavush. The
detainees have been taken to the Noyemberyan police station. All of
them, apart from political scientist Suren Petrosyan, have been later
launched.
On April 22, 5 members of the Armenian group Fight
Brotherhood have been detained because of the Tavush incidents.
The eighth assembly of the State Fee on State Border
Delimitation between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the Fee on
State Border Delimitation and Border Safety between Armenia and
Azerbaijan was held on April 19, 2024.
The perimeters tentatively agreed on the passage of sure segments
of the border line immediately between the settlements of Baganis
(Armenia) – Baganys Ayrim (Azerbaijan), Voskepar (Armenia) – Ashagy
Askipara (Azerbaijan), Kirants (Armenia) – Kheyrimli (Azerbaijan),
and Berkaber (Armenia) – Gyzylhajily (Azerbaijan) to carry them in
line with the legally justified inter-republican border that
existed throughout the Soviet Union on the time of its collapse.
