Eleven folks have been injured, 4 severely, when a Boeing jet chartered by Air Sénégal skidded off the runway throughout takeoff from Dias airport close to Dakar, the airport's working firm stated.
The B737/300 plane belonging to the personal firm Transair and working the Dakar-Bamako flight “went off the runway throughout take-off immediately, Could 9, 2024 at 01.00”, the corporate's assertion states, clarifying that “the airport was closed till take the prescribed measures”.
“Eleven folks have been injured, 4 of them severely, out of the 78 on board,” based on the announcement. “The reopening of the airport will likely be introduced within the subsequent few hours.”
“The plane got here to a standstill outdoors the runway… The emergency response plan was activated by the airport authorities as quickly as they realized of the incident and all related providers have been mobilized to handle the evacuation and remedy of the passengers,” the announcement states.
