A pilot who died after a Spitfire crashed in a area in Lincolnshire has been named by the RAF as Sqn Ldr Mark Lengthy.
Emergency crews have been known as to the crash website, close to RAF Coningsby, shortly earlier than 13:20 BST on Saturday.
The World Warfare Two-era fighter belonged to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) primarily based on the station.
In an announcement, the RAF mentioned Sqn Ldr Lengthy was “a fantastic buddy, colleague and a passionate, skilled aviator.”
