With the choice of the Supreme Navy Council in Turkey, 23 generals and admirals have been promoted to the next rank and 77 colonels have been promoted to normal and admiral, efficient from 30 August 2024.
Based on the assertion made by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, on the 2024 Supreme Navy Council (YAŞ) assembly held on the Presidential Complicated beneath the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the conditions of the generals/admirals and colonels serving within the Turkish Armed Forces who shall be promoted to the next rank, whose phrases of workplace shall be prolonged, and who shall be despatched to retirement as a consequence of lack of employees have been mentioned and determined upon with the approval of President Erdoğan.
On this context, efficient from August 30, 2024, 23 generals and admirals have been promoted to the next rank, 77 colonels have been promoted to normal and admiral, the phrases of workplace of 34 generals and admirals have been prolonged by one 12 months, and the phrases of workplace of 455 colonels have been prolonged by two years.
Within the determination, it was acknowledged that two generals have been retired as of September 1, 2024 as a consequence of age restrict, and 29 generals and admirals have been retired as of August 30, 2024 as a consequence of lack of employees.
Within the determination, it was reported that it was determined to increase the time period of workplace of Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu by one 12 months, and it was famous that the variety of generals and admirals, which is presently 281, shall be 327 as of August 30, 2024.
As of August 30, 2024;
From the Land Forces Command, Lieutenant Generals Levent Ergün and Metin Tokel have been promoted to Common; from the Naval Forces Command, Vice Admiral Kadir Yıldız was promoted to Admiral; from the Land Forces Command, Main Generals Tevfik Algan and Gültekin Yaralı have been promoted to Lieutenant Common; from the Naval Forces Command, Rear Admirals Mustafa Kaya and Yalçın Payal have been promoted to Vice Admiral; and from the Air Forces Command, Main Common Yaşar Kadıoğlu was promoted to Lieutenant Common.
Brigadier Generals İlker Görgülü, Erman Kiraz, Mustafa Köksal, Ferat Vural, Ahmet Gülmüş, Rıfat Dönel, İlhan İstanbullu, Yusuf Diker and Zeynel Abidin Erginbaş from the Land Forces Command have been promoted to Main Common; Rear Admirals Serhat Sözbir, Mehmet Emre Sezenler, Mevlüt Savaş Bilican and Recep Erdinç Yetkin from the Naval Forces Command have been promoted to Rear Admiral; and Brigadier Generals Mete Kuş and Sadık Uygur from the Air Forces Command have been promoted to Main Common.
The promotions in query shall be legitimate as of August 30, 2024.
