Two males have been charged after a Banksy art work was stolen from a central London artwork gallery, the Met Police has mentioned.
An investigation was launched after a housebreaking at a gallery on New Cavendish Road at about 23:00 GMT on Sunday.
The work, “Woman with Balloon”, was the one merchandise stolen and has since been recovered.
Larry Fraser, 47, of Evelyn Denington Street, Beckton, and James Love, 53, of Elvin Drive, North Stifford, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Courtroom on Thursday, a Met spokesperson mentioned.
The pair are set to seem at Kingston Crown Courtroom on 9 October.
Grove Gallery on New Cavendish Road held an exhibition referred to as Banksy’s London Revolt from 21 August to 7 September which featured the artist’s works.
A digital tour on the gallery’s web site reveals the “Woman with Balloon” piece featured at their entrance.
The “Woman with Balloon” art work is a part of a collection of work and stencils by the guerrilla artist.
One model was partially shredded after going beneath the hammer for greater than £1m in 2018.
The piece was voted the nation’s favorite art work in 2017 in a ballot of two,000 folks.
