On the event of the nationwide anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Cyprus, the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis laid a wreath on the Imprisoned Monuments this morning. Together with the President of the Republic, the President of the Hellenic Republic Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, who’s in Cyprus on the invitation of President Christodoulidis to take part within the anniversary celebrations, additionally laid a wreath.

In accordance with an announcement by the Presidency at 8.30 within the morning, the President of the Republic went to the Imprisoned Monuments, the place a trisage was held on the graves of the heroes after which he laid a wreath.
Afterwards, he and President Sakellaropoulou went to the Presidential Palace, the place they laid wreaths on the statue of the primary President of the Republic of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios III.
Anti-Resistance Monument
