A person has been arrested after dozens of lifeless animals have been dumped exterior a group store.
Round 50 lifeless hares, a barn owl and a kestrel have been left exterior Broughton Group Store in a picturesque Hampshire village earlier this month.
The earlier month, a decapitated deer was discovered near a main college in a close-by village.
A 37-year-old man from Totton, close to Southampton, has been arrested on suspicion of seven offences, and stays in custody.
They embody varied animal welfare and poaching offences, in addition to a firearms-related offence.
Police stated examinations of the barn owl and kestrel – each of that are legally protected – revealed the birds had been shot with a gun.
The birds have been ‘stuffed’ on the door handles and blood was smeared on the home windows, the store’s treasurer stated.
In February, 25 lifeless wild animals have been discovered near a main college on Danes Street within the village of Awbridge, six miles away from Broughton.

The carcasses of pheasants and hares have been found together with a ‘decapitated deer’, an area newspaper reported.
