UK consumer confidence edges up in December but remains ‘far from strong’

The GfK Client Confidence index elevated by one level to -17 this month, with two of the measures up and three remaining unchanged from November. 
The rise within the index was considerably extra modest than the rise recorded in November, when all measures had been up on the time and the general rating had elevated by three factors from October.
The index measuring modifications in private funds over the past 12 months elevated by two factors from November, hitting -7 this month, with the general rating now seven factors larger than in December 2023, when the determine stood at -14.
