Greater than 100 individuals have been onboard a ferry because it caught hearth off the coast of southern Thailand on Thursday morning.
The ferry, an in a single day service from Surat Thani to common vacationer island Koh Tao, was about to reach at its vacation spot when the fireplace started.
Some passengers needed to leap into the ocean to flee the fireplace, in line with AP information company. Authorities confirmed that there have been no accidents.
One of many passengers, Maitree Promjampa, advised AP that he first heard a crackling sound, then smelled smoke. Lower than 5 minutes later he noticed flames, inflicting these on board to begin shouting and ring the alarm.
The reason for the fireplace has not been revealed.
