In a letter from the APPG on Funding Fraud and Fairer Monetary Providers to the chair of the Treasury Committee Meg Hillier, the group of cross-party MPs mentioned “the FCA’s deliberate automated deletion of emails presents inevitable, illogical and irrational dangers to its efficiency and accountability”.
The politicians added they “can’t consider another statutory physique that employs such a Draconian and opaque coverage in respect of its e mail correspondence”, and that the proposed modifications would “make the FCA a noticeable outlier, deviating from established good governance requirements”.
