With its honey-stone villages and manor homes, its rolling panorama of sheep-nibbled hills and its good-looking church buildings, the Cotswolds is heart-tuggingly lovely. The 800 or so sq. miles that make up the area are criss-crossed with footpaths and bisected by dry stone partitions, about 4,000 miles of them, including architectural embellishment to the pure artistry right here. However you couldn’t probably absorb the complete area over a few days. So dwelling in on an interesting half. To the north are the delights of beautiful Chipping Campden and the wonderful gardens of Hidcote and Kiftsgate. To the east is historic Burford, lined with fabulous previous teaching inns.
