The excess of the Normal Authorities elevated by €469.9 within the interval January – August 2024, in comparison with the corresponding interval of 2023. The preliminary fiscal outcomes ready by the Statistical Service of Cyprus for the interval January – August 2024 present a surplus of the Normal Authorities of the order of €1,368.4 million (4.3% of GDP) in comparison with a surplus of €898.5 million (3.0% of GDP) for the interval January-August 2023.

Particularly, complete taxes on manufacturing and imports elevated by €275.4 million (9.8%) and amounted to €3,073.3 million in comparison with €2,797.9 million in 2023, of which internet VAT income (after deducting refunds) elevated by €247.2 million (13.6%) to €2,070.1 million in comparison with €1,822.9 million in 2023. Income from revenue and wealth taxation elevated by €371.7 million (17.3%) to €2,517.7 million in comparison with €2,146.0 million in 2023.
Social contributions elevated by €365.7m (15.7%) to €2,694.1m in comparison with €2,328.4m in 2023. Curiosity and dividends obtained elevated by €21.4m .(31.1%) and amounted to €90.3 million in comparison with €68.9 million in 2023. Revenues from provision of providers elevated by €143.4 million (30.2%) and amounted to €618.4m in comparison with €475.0m in 2023.
In distinction, present transfers decreased by €71.4m (-23.5%) and had been restricted to €232.9m in comparison with €304.3m in 2023. Capital transfers decreased by €32.8 million (-31.2%) and had been restricted to €72.2 million in comparison with €105.0 million in 2023.
