membership within the Worldwide Olive Oil Council (IOOC), which
operates below the auspices of the United Nations, Development reviews through the
Export and Funding Promotion Company of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO).
Established in 1959, the Council promotes worldwide
technical collaboration in olive oil and desk olive analysis,
data switch, and commerce requirements. It targets enhancing
product high quality and increasing worldwide commerce.
The Council facilitates common conferences between authorities
representatives, specialists, and the personal sector to foster
collaboration.
Other than Azerbaijan, the Council’s membership consists of
Albania, Argentina, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt,
Georgia, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Montenegro, Morocco,
Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Türkiye, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, and
a number of EU international locations.
Olive orchards cowl a number of thousand hectares in Azerbaijan,
yielding circa ten tons per hectare. The nation produces a number of
thousand tons of olive oil yearly, exporting it to numerous
European international locations.
