The commercialization of Christmas and its environmental results
George Koumoullis A century in the past in Cyprus, even 70-80 years in the past, Christmas was a purely non secular vacation. Most people lived in villages and it’s no exaggeration to say that actually everybody within the villages went to church at Christmas. And if some – then money on the fingers – rejected organized faith or non secular practices that they thought of superstitions, on that day, like Easter, they felt the duty to go to church.
