Finland will withdraw from the Barents Euro-Arctic Council after 2025 however will proceed cooperation within the northern areas by different channels.

Established in 1993, the Barents Euro-Arctic Council is a regional intergovernmental group that seeks to advertise stability and sustainable improvement within the Barents Area. Its members included Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the European Fee.
In September 2023, Russia introduced its withdrawal from the Council.
