The governor of Russia's Murmansk area within the Arctic is hospitalized after being attacked with a knife on the road, Russia's Investigative Committee introduced at the moment.
45-year-old Andrey Tsibis was attacked yesterday, Thursday, night “after his assembly with residents of the city of Apatiti” within the Murmansk area, the Fee clarifies in a press release.
“A resident of the realm attacked the governor with a knife, injuring him,” the assertion added, including that the assailant was arrested.
Throughout his interrogation he acknowledged that he acted “due to his dislike for the governor, though he doesn’t know him personally”, in accordance with the Fee of Inquiry.
“I wakened after the operation. I need to say a giant thanks to our medical doctors. And naturally to all of you who have been involved and in your help,” stated Tsibis from the hospital, in a video posted on Telegram.
“Now I’ll get well after which again to work!”, he added.
Andrei Tsibis, a lawyer, has been the governor of Murmansk since 2019.
