The federal government has been accused of a “weird and completely unjustified resolution” – after rejecting compensation funds to girls born within the Fifties who weren’t correctly warned that their pension age was being elevated – dubbed the WASPIs.
Ministers stated the overall invoice may quantity to £10.5 billion kilos – so wouldn’t be truthful.
However critics – together with Labour MPs – stated ministers had set a “worrying precedent” by ignoring a transparent suggestion by the parliamentary ombudsman that compensation needs to be paid.
