Ms Vennells recommended “temptation” for subpostmasters to borrow cash from tills was an issue and never the Horizon system.
The probe into the scandal was instructed how she made a “false assertion” in a letter to former Conservative MP Oliver Letwin by saying that courts present in favour of the Publish Workplace “in each occasion” when prosecuting subpostmasters for theft or false accounting.
The inquiry was proven minutes of a gathering between Ms Vennells, former chair Alice Perkins and MPs equivalent to Lord Arbuthnot – who testified yesterday – by which she claimed a small variety of subpostmasters had been “borrowing” cash from the tills.
Lord Arbuthnot additionally mentioned he was not glad with the “brush-off” response he acquired from Ms Vennells after he raised issues over subpostmaster complaints in regards to the Horizon system.
