Police on Monday arrested a 45-year-old Nicosia resident for an investigated case of cash extortion underneath false illustration.
In keeping with the police, a 44-year-old restaurateur reported the case, based on which in 2023 he got here into contact with the 45-year-old, who was launched to him as a lawyer. The 45-year-old allegedly extorted from the 44-year-old a sum of cash in extra of €10,000, as a way to register staff, to be employed on the complainant’s restaurant, in Famagusta. Nonetheless, the alleged lawyer by no means offered the service.
Police issued a judicial arrest warrant in opposition to the 45-year-old, pursuant to which he was arrested and brought into custody.
