Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's journey to Moscow as a part of his self-proclaimed “peace mission” was a political mistake, European Council President Charles Michel mentioned immediately.
Orbán's journey, simply days after Hungary took over the rotating presidency of the European Union, led to the lack of confidence of different member states in Budapest, Michel argued. “It was a political mistake,” he informed reporters.
Michel is in Washington for the NATO summit.
“Member international locations reacted very clearly (…) making it clear {that a} critical warning was given to the Hungarian presidency. This fashion of working will not be acceptable,” he added.
