Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has determined to nominate Yechiel Leiter as Israel’s ambassador to the US, in line with a press release issued by Netanyahu’s workplace.
Leiter, 65, has served in senior public service positions in Israel, together with the deputy director-general of the Schooling Ministry, chief-of-staff within the Finance Ministry, and appearing chairman of the Israel Ports Firm.
“Leiter was born in the US and is deeply aware of the American administration and society,” the assertion stated, calling him “a extremely succesful diplomat” and “an eloquent speaker” who “possesses a deep understanding of American tradition and politics.”
Leiter will take workplace in January 2025, changing Michael Herzog, brother of Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who has served because the Israeli ambassador to America for 3 years.
