New Zealand’s authorities has formally apologized to victims of historic abuse in state care. It follows a public inquiry that recognized widespread abuse, torture and neglect of a whole bunch of 1000’s of kids and weak adults over a 70-year interval. Kristina Kukolja experiences.

KRISTINA KUKOLJA: New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon was interrupted by a protester as he addressed survivors at a particular sitting of Parliament in Wellington on Tuesday. The protester was talking Maori, New Zealand’s Indigenous language.
