The problem of Cyprus was raised as the primary impediment to the development of Turkey's relations with the European Union, by the Excessive Consultant of the European Union, Kaya Callas, who met at midday with the Turkish Minister of International Affairs, Hakan Fidan.
In a press convention, instantly after the assembly, the Excessive Consultant of the European Union emphasised the significance of Turkey for European safety and expressed the need to strengthen the Union's relations with Turkey.
Kaya Kalas listed the areas that stop the growth of cooperation, mentioning first the Cyprus challenge after which the violation of sanctions in opposition to Russia.
The Turkish International Minister said that becoming a member of the European Union is a strategic objective for Turkey and added that he expects from the Union a brand new, practical and unprejudiced strategy, which he mentioned would strengthen Turkey's accession course of.
Hakan Fidan accused European nations of inflicting unjustified obstacles to Turkey's strategy to the European Union for causes of inside politics.
