It was reported that the forest hearth that broke out in Keratea, about 50 kilometers from the Greek capital Athens, has reached residential areas.
In an pressing coded message despatched to residents' cellphones by the Greek Ministry of Local weather Disaster and Civil Safety, some settlements close to Keratea, corresponding to Palaiokamariza, Lavreotiki, Markati, Plaka and Panorama, had been requested to be evacuated.
Chatting with Greek State Tv, the Deputy Mayor of Lavreotiki said that the forest hearth reached the homes within the area.
Whereas the fireplace is being intervened by air and land, robust winds within the area make extinguishing efforts tough.
