The Turkish analysis vessel “Oruc Reis” departs on Saturday for analysis actions aimed toward finding hydrocarbon deposits off the coast of Somalia.
The ship will sail from Istanbul, crossing the Bosphorus, in a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Oruc Reis is predicted to stay off Somalia for seven months, throughout which it’s going to gather information on each pure fuel and oil fields. The information collected from the 3D seismic research shall be analyzed in Ankara and drilling actions will start on the places decided based on the outcomes of the surveys. Along with the “Oruc Reis” three accompanying ships (Zaganos Pasa, Sancar and Ataman) will depart for Somalia.
