On Sunday, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia celebrated their accession to the European power system with a symbolic ceremony, after slicing the transmission traces of the Soviet-era energy grid, thus interrupting the circulate of electrical energy between the Baltic nations and Russia.
The choice is each geopolitical and symbolic for Europe. The Baltic states at the moment are depending on connections with Finland, Sweden and Poland.
